Washington, D.C. – This month, U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) marked her first 100 days in office as Delaware’s newest Senator. In her first 100 days, Blunt Rochester has remained dedicated to holding the Trump administration accountable and fighting for Delawareans.
She marked this milestone, as well as the conclusion of the April state work period, by holding an in-person town hall with members of the Delaware Congressional Delegation, including U.S. Senator Chris Coons, U.S. Representative Sarah McBride, Governor Matt Meyer, and Attorney General Kathy Jennings (all D-Del.).
In her first 100 days, Senator Blunt Rochester has stood up for Delawareans and pushed back against the harmful policies of this administration, worked across the aisle to introduce bipartisan legislation, and traveled up and down the state to connect with various communities.
“In my first 100 days as Delaware’s Senator, I have worked diligently to find ways to improve the lives of Delawareans, especially as the Trump administration takes actions that harm communities in our state and across the country,” said Senator Blunt Rochester.
“Delawareans are worried about this administration taking away their health care and hard-earned retirement benefits, as well as hollowing out agencies that were designed to serve their needs. That is why I have worked to demand answers from this administration, opposed the administration’s nominees, and will continue to fight to defend critical benefits Delawareans rely on – just as I did during my time in the House.”
“I also remain committed to finding common ground. Almost every piece of legislation I have introduced or co-led as a Senator has been bipartisan,” continued Senator Blunt Rochester. “In my travels up and down the state these first 100 days, Delawareans have made one thing clear to me: in this moment, they need someone to fight for them and make their lives better – no matter the circumstance. I am more committed than ever to fighting for a better future for Delawareans and defending their interests.”
In Senator Blunt Rochester’s first 100 days, she has:
- Introduced or co-led 15 bills to bring down housing costs, invest in our nursing workforce, strengthen our supply chains, and more;
- Sent 65 letters to hold the administration accountable for their harmful actions to gut the federal workforce, discontinue crucial manufacturing programs, delay crucial meetings of vaccine experts and more; and
- Offered amendments to Republican partisan budget bill to protect federal health care workers and reject President Trump’s harmful tariffs and their impact on rising housing costs, and more.
