Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, released a statement on the exclusion of the ROAD to Housing Act from must-pass, end-of-year legislation.
“With housing costs sky-high nationwide, the affordability crisis impacts nearly every American family. Congress has an opportunity to take tangible action toward addressing it with the ROAD to Housing Act, which begs the question of why House Republicans are pushing it aside.
“America’s housing crisis must be met with swift action. This bipartisan legislation, which included three of my bills and passed the Senate unanimously, provided us a great opportunity to do so. While I’m sure House Republicans will come to regret blocking this legislation from being considered, that doesn’t mean our fight is over. We will continue to push for solutions and treat our housing crisis with the urgency it deserves – the American people deserve nothing less.”
