About the Internships

Internship opportunities for college students and recent graduates are available in the Washington, DC and Delaware offices. Interns will experience the legislative process firsthand and learn how the Senator and her staff engage with and serve the people of Delaware.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Interns in the Washington, DC, office have the opportunity to work with the press, legislative, and constituent services teams. A typical day for DC legislative interns may include answering phone calls from Delawareans, assisting the Senator’s legislative staff with constituent correspondence, researching legislative issues, attending committee hearings, and giving tours of the Capitol. Those interested in communications are invited to apply for a DC press and digital internship. A typical day for press and digital interns will include working with the press team to monitor media, assisting with press releases, helping prepare for interviews and press conferences, and assisting with creating posts and other digital products for the senator’s social media channels. Interns in the Senator’s Delaware offices will work closely with staff throughout the State to develop a thorough knowledge of local issues and constituent needs.
