If you are planning a visit to our nation’s capital, Senator Blunt Rochester’s office is here to help! Our team can help you set up tours of the United States Capitol Building and The White House.
We can also provide information about many open monuments, museums, memorials and other attractions that do not require you to request tours through our office.
United States Capitol
The Capitol Visitor Center is open to visitors with tour reservations from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day and on Inauguration Day.
All tours are led by professional tour guides and visit the Crypt, the Rotunda and National Statuary Hall. The tour route is subject to change.
The tour route does NOT include the Senate or House Gallery. Gallery passes can be obtained from Senator Blunt Rochester’s office.
Advanced reservations are not required, but are strongly recommended for all visitors.
White House
The White House offers self-guided tours that last approximately 45 minutes. Tours are generally available 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday as well as 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday through Saturday (excluding Federal holidays or unless otherwise noted).
White House tour requests should be made through your Member of Congress, which may be submitted up to 90 days in advance of the requested tour date.
If approved, the White House will assign a tour time that cannot be changed. Although rare, White House tours can be subject to last minute cancellations and rescheduling.
Library of Congress
The Library of Congress is one of the oldest research institutions in the country. It hosts an impressive collection of books, manuscripts, maps, photographs and other original historical documents. One of the Library’s primary goals is to make this information readily available to both the general public and Members of Congress. Visit the library to learn about the history, architecture, and collections of America’s oldest cultural institutions.
The Library of Congress offers free timed-entry passes and self-guided tours of the Thomas Jefferson Building. For further information, including directions, a list of current exhibits, and to schedule a tour, please call the Library’s Visitor office at (202) 707-0919 or click the link below.
Supreme Court
The Supreme Court, which houses our nation’s highest court, inspires visitors with the words: “Equal Justice Under Law” inscribed above its main entrance. Seating for the oral argument sessions will be provided to the public, members of the Supreme Court Bar, and press. The Supreme Court Building will otherwise be closed to the public on days when the Court is in session.
The Supreme Court Building is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It is closed on weekends and all federal holidays. Admission is free. Visitors may view the public portions of the building on a self-guided basis and take advantage of a variety of educational programs, including Courtroom Lectures, and Court-related Exhibitions.
