Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), a member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, today released the following statement on President Trump naming Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence.
“President Trump’s decision to appoint Bill Pulte as Acting Director of National Intelligence is not only unwise, it is an affront to the true experts far more qualified for the role. Pulte has absolutely no national security or intelligence experience, yet he has been entrusted with overseeing the agencies responsible for safeguarding our national security. This announcement further illustrates the Trump administration’s prioritization of loyalty over expertise.
“Bill Pulte’s FHFA devoted significant attention to pursuing the President’s political grievances rather than addressing the housing crisis facing American families. For Americans sake, let’s hope Mr. Pulte has more success in his new role than he has at addressing housing affordability.”
