Legislative Internships
The Office of Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) seeks motivated, organized, and hardworking college students and recent graduates committed to public service to serve as interns in our Washington, DC, and Delaware offices this Fall. The Fall internship term begins in September 2025 and ends in early December 2025.
Interns in Washington, DC, are fully integrated into office operations. They work with the legislative staff to perform research, draft correspondence and memos, and attend hearings. Interns provide administrative support by greeting constituents, answering phones, and giving tours of the Capitol building. Our interns also work with the scheduling and press teams. Interns are encouraged to attend special events that occur in the Senate and the House of Representatives and will have the opportunity to explore the many monuments and landmarks of our Nation’s Capital.
Interns in the Senator’s offices in Delaware work closely with staff throughout the State to develop a thorough knowledge of local issues and constituent needs. Interns support office staff and answer constituent calls, conduct research, and monitor local news outlets for daily developments. State interns have the opportunity to attend events with Senator Blunt Rochester, such as constituent events and town hall meetings.
Successful candidates will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, willingness to contribute to a team environment, and eagerness to learn about the political process and congressional affairs. Delaware ties are preferred. Press Internships
The Office of Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) seeks a motivated, organized, and hardworking press intern in our Washington, DC office in Fall 2025. Our press intern will be fully integrated into our communications team and its operations. Their duties may include compiling daily news clips, maintaining and updating press lists, transcribing and processing audio, monitoring the news for relevant developments, drafting and editing written materials like press releases, advisories, and newsletters, creating engaging digital content including graphics, videos, and social media copy, and supporting the members of the communications team, including at events.
Successful candidates will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, a willingness to contribute to a team environment, and an eagerness to learn about communications, the political process, and congressional affairs. Delaware ties are strongly preferred.
