Harrington, Del. – Today, U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) visited the Delaware State Fair, an annual summer tradition in the First State. Blunt Rochester spoke to constituents, attended fair exhibitions, and celebrated the contributions of Delaware’s agricultural community.
“It was so good to be home and at the Delaware State Fair today,” said Senator Blunt Rochester. “This annual tradition is one of the highlights of my summer every year and I appreciated the opportunity to take in all the fair has to offer. I’m already looking forward to next year!”
At the fair, Blunt Rochester spent time at the livestock barns, viewed 4-H and FFA student exhibits, as well as the new Harrington Historical Society display in Memorial Hall, and stopped by the New Castle Building.
She also enjoyed the classic Fair food and thanked all those who play a role in making the Fair happen every year. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, Blunt Rochester secured $900,000 in federal funding for the Delaware State Fair to revitalize the New Castle Building, which is used to support year-round programming for 4-H and FFA participants from around Delaware.
