Washington, DC – In case you missed it, U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee and the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, celebrated the Senate’s passage of the ROAD to Housing Act and the Streamlining American Manufacturing Strategy Act. Blunt Rochester authored three bills that passed as part of the ROAD to Housing Act, as well as the Streamlining American Manufacturing Strategy Act.

“I’m proud that the Senate has passed my Streamlining American Manufacturing Strategy Act and three of my bills in the ROAD to Housing Act, bringing these measures one step closer to becoming law,” said Senator Blunt Rochester. “I am so humbled to have secured Floor passage in my first year as Senator, however this victory is a direct result of hearing from Delawareans who have shared their concerns with me and my office. From addressing the crisis of housing affordability to ensuring greater efficiency in our manufacturing sector, this will benefit many families in Delaware and across the nation. I’m grateful to my fellow Senators for their support, and I will keep working with our colleagues in the House to get these pieces of legislation over the finish line.”

The ROAD to Housing Act is a landmark, bipartisan housing package that would spur the development of housing across the nation and bring down costs. It includes three bills authored by Blunt Rochester: the Housing Supply Frameworks Act, the Accelerating Home Building Act, and the Community Investment and Prosperity Act. It was unanimously advanced by the Banking Committee in July. Additionally, in September, Blunt Rochester unveiled her legislative agenda to combat the housing crisis, “The New Way Home Agenda: A Federal Framework to Address America’s Housing Crisis.”

The bipartisan Streamlining American Manufacturing Strategy Act, authored by Blunt Rochester, would amend the National Institute of Standards and Technology Act to align the timelines for multiple advanced manufacturing initiatives to every four years on the same cycle. It was advanced by the Commerce Committee in July.
