Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) celebrated the passage of legislation to establish a partial claims program at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The bill would protect veterans and active-duty service members currently at-risk of foreclosure and the loss of their homes. H.R. 1815, the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act, included provisions from legislation authored by Blunt Rochester and U.S. Senator Mike Rounds (R-S.D.). The included provisions would increase the amount of the partial claim benefit available to veterans, provide additional assistance in the face of major disasters, and expand flexibility for the administration of the program.
